![]() ![]() I am a low producer anyway, so it was getting frustrating to be strapped to my pump for 30 minutes just for 60 milliliters of milk. The s1 is ok but it takes me a full 30 minutes or more to empty out, and I have to constantly switch back and forth to the letdown mode to keep going, and I have to hand compress a lot along with that. I GREATLY prefer the babybuddha pump so far. I’m 6 weeks pp, started out with the S1 and just got the babybuddha this week. I’m coming in late here but just in case you haven’t made your decision already (or if someone is searching this later), I actually have both of these pumps. I'll 10/10 recommend a Spectra pump to anyone. The S1 was the overall winner for me because after I switched to it I never got another clog, not even when I weaned. Clunky but it worked if I needed to move around. ![]() To make the S1 more portable I stole a belt from my husband and tied it around my waist. The output was the same but the suction was so much easier to handle, it also does a sort of vibration during the suction cycle so I didn't need the warming massagers anymore. After about 5 months with the BB I couldn't take it anymore (and the motor started skipping if I walked too aggressively) and bought a Spectra S1. The stimulation mode does 10 short pulls and one long pull, as a result I dubbed that pump the Nipple Ripper 9000. At around 8 weeks pp I switched from the Pump in Style to the BB and while it worked infinitely better but it was uncomfortable to pump with unless I used my Lavie Warming Massagers with it. Tossing in another vote for the S1 over the Baby Buddha. Some people do great with wearables (I fared alright with the LM cups myself), but they're better for occasional use (like driving) than constant use in my opinion. Wearable cups are notorious for not emptying as effectively as traditional flanges, I don't know if it's the shape or how they sit, but this is a common complaint amongst pumpers. I’ve read great things about the BabyBuddha and how powerful it is for how small it is and I really think the mobility would be nice.ĭoes anyone have any thoughts or recommendations between the Two pumps? I don’t really like how big it is, but if it helped with my output, then maybe it’s the best choice. The spectra 1 seems to work really well for a lot of pumping parents, so that’s the only reason I am thinking of this one. I’m super torn between the Spectra 1 and the BabyBuddha. I have a new insurance plan, which means I can get/try a new pump. I did order new size flanges and I’m waiting for those to come in so I can try those and see if that helps. I wanted something portable as it was really affecting my mental health being tethered to the wall. I tried the Imani pumps as well, but those were even worse for me. I used to get around 80-98 ml during my first pump of the day (have always been an under-producer) and now I’m only getting ~30ml if I’m lucky! I’m 4 weeks PP and if anything I’m drinking more water now than I was before and eating more than I was in the beginning. I currently am using the Medela Pump in Style with the Legendairy Milk collection cups and it really hasn’t worked well for me. ![]()
